Community service Google News can read the local news via mobile version for your operating system, Android and iPhone. The new version of the service is available at news.google.com. When you open the main page from a mobile browser, Google News will ask permission to use the location information and after receiving permission to the service will feature "News near you".
Google is not the first to offer a similar service. A similar option provides an application Bing for iPhone, CNN program for the iPhone (it also shows weather) and application Yahoo iPhone.
According to the first users, the service has a more precise targeting, but is updated more slowly than competitors' services.
