Android beats Apple in the smartphone market nearly 10%, but the gap between it and Apple in the services that use the check-in - much lower, according to research firm comScore.
According to figures from comScore, the total market share in the U.S., which is owned by Android, is 34.7%; Apple owns 25.5%.The difference between the platforms to use the function check-in, however, is only 3% - 36.6% versus 33.7%. RIM uses 22% of users of services with check-in, and Microsoft, Palm and Symbian - up to 5% in the aggregate.
According to comScore, a variety of services using the options check-in, in March 2011 used 7.1% of the entire population of mobile users. About 76% of this number are the users of smart phones, according to comScore.
